COLORING PAGES
A colleague Emily Bloch, came up with the original idea of producing coloring pages coinciding with Philadelphia sports mile stones. Created a book for the Paris Olympics because of their popularity. Matt Mullin, a digital sports editor took it home and Gabriela Carroll were invaluable team mates. Making it to the Super Bowl or World Series, playoffs and season openers, the downloadable pdfs became a favorite with the kids, subscribers and our promotion department.
Joey and his brother reached out with requests that kept the coloring book pages trending among many. During 2025 Super Bowl coverage, the post was second in new subscriptions behind the live sports blog. To me it became a perfect way to develop future readers and a vehicle to family fun. Even a local library printed them out for patrons.
